After successful completion of this course, students will receive Taxi Authority to drive a taxi.
To obtain a Taxi Authority (Taxi Driver’s Licence) the student has to undergo the following process:
- Pass the English Test conducted by AMES at Surry Hills – This is the only centre authorised by the Ministry of Transport to conduct the English test for Taxi students.
- Undergo a medical examination and obtain a Criminal Record Check from the Ministry of Transport. We take care of this process and provide students with the application forms. The students then have to complete the application form and give it back to us and we process the police clearance for the students.
- Attend 48 hours of classes which can be taken either full time or part time (Day and Evening)
- Practice on the computer for the Sydney Knowledge Test and Street Directory Test
- Pass the tests at our centre and Ministry of Transport
- Obtain the certificates and Taxi Authority to drive taxi
